Secrets the Weight Loss Industry Doesn't Want You to Know

Hey peeps,

Today's article discusses and reveals some of the "secrets of the weight loss industry you don't want to know".

I will do my best to avoid this as I am passionate about many issues here but we will see how it goes.

First we will see what the weight industry is and is not.

Weight loss industries (think diets, diet books, slimming clubs, slimming pills) are above all business, their sole existence is to make money and their sons make money. In the first quarter of 2010 a giant overweight club made over 200 million, which was about 66 million a month.

Now don't get me wrong with all the money spent there will be an element of weight loss success, some people will lose weight for their investment, many will not. Over 90% of people who start weight loss or weight loss activities fail.

That's shocking statistics, but big-dollar companies know that the same people would think they were doing something wrong, that it's their fault that they didn't stick to the plan, and they're likely to sign up again and again for that. similar or new "sensations" that promise the world but often fail to provide long-term weight loss success.

Why do people fail in weight loss?

It is my belief that many people fail at weight loss because they approach it in the wrong way and they do not choose the right support.

People have been led to believe that calories in calories are the only way to manage weight. People have been told that cutting, calorie cutting, and hunger are the sacrifices you need to make to shed unwanted body fat.

These elements are true, if you reduce your calorie intake under your daily energy consumption over a consistent period you will lose weight ... assuming all other elements are there to make it happen.

What are the elements for successful weight loss?

  • The right food

  • Proper hydration

  • The right hormone balance

  • Right lifestyle

  • Proper recovery and regeneration strategies

The right food

Now I'm going to be a con artist here to make a point. If everything depends solely on calories and you have a daily limit set, then it won't matter where your calories come from. For example, if you were allowed 1500 calories a day (500 less than the average daily intake of a normal woman, who would it be?) That could include a big Mac and a Mars bar. Therefore, if you limit yourself to eating only two things you will theoretically lose weight, and for a while you may but you will seriously disrupt your internal environment.

While this is a simple and drastic example, this is what the calorie and eye related program says, you can eat whatever you like while meeting your daily limit.

So why doesn't this work? Your body does not know the calories, yes if there is a lot of energy it will store it and for a while if there is a lack of energy it will use your internal energy reservoir (fat stores, muscle and glycogen liver and muscle tissue), but if those calories do not carry useful nutrients with it , you'll keep you hungry no matter what you eat.

This is where many weight loss programs fall. If you are constantly hungry and have no Jedi mind control, you will at one point give in to desire. The best way to avoid this is to limit the opportunity for cravings altogether. Desire is for your body to tell you that you need something, that your body is missing vital nutrients. For example when you crave chocolate that is the magnesium you want, if you have enough magnesium in your diet, this will not happen as often or strongly.

To put it simply, when you give your body everything it needs, it stops asking for more food. What this means is that if your diet is healthy, very nutritious and from many natural sources your body will not crave anything else. The caveat to this is that it will take a little while to overcome the craving for sugar and caffeine-based products because we're basically addicted.

It is interesting to note that one of the weight loss giants has now reversed his confidence to focus more on healthy eating.

Proper hydration

Some of the many benefits of good hydration:

  • You look and feel younger.

  • You better watch out.

  • Your digestive system sends nutrients to the cells more effectively.

  • Weight control restored.

  • The ability to deal with stress is enhanced.

  • Pain from joint pain decreases

For today's purpose I will focus quickly on digestion. Only if you are not properly hydrated can you absorb all the nutrients from your diet. If you cannot absorb the nutrients from your food your body will want it. If your body wants more nutrients, you will tend to eat more, so in essence if you only eat healthy foods as mentioned above, your hydration status should still support your weight loss efforts.

The right hormone balance

This is a great topic and one that I will address individually in another article but for now there are some ideas to take. Your hormones play a huge role in everything your body does. They are messengers that tell your body how to work and react and have strong control over your fat store so that you can control certain hormones that can target certain areas of fat storage in your body.

For example, two hormones insulin and glucagon facilitate fat storage and fat burning. Insulin is our fat storage hormone. When we bring heavy carbohydrate-based foods or sugary products to the body, Insulin works to stabilize blood sugar levels by storing sugar in muscle, liver and fat. Because storage in the liver and muscles is limited, any excess will be stored as fat (this usually ends up in your love handles). Glucagon is a fat burner we work to move our fat stores to burn for energy production. Glucagon cannot work when insulin is active so if you have a carbohydrate-based diet in each serving of fat burning hormones we can't do as much work as we like until we get more storage and less burning. That's not to say carbohydrates are bad, but not their time to take on weight management is important to get your hormones working instead of against you.

Right lifestyle

Unfortunately there are certain elements of our lifestyle that we cannot always control. You can choose your job but you cannot choose the way you operate it. You can't always avoid traffic on the way home.

Many elements in our lives are stressful and this again affects your weight loss. Usually, our stress response is natural, something that emphasizes that our body reacts to the nervous system or flight response until pressure is released.

With our society now, however, our pressure response should not be. the pressures we face such as sitting in the jam are not life threatening but they still cause a hormonal stress response. Cortisol (our stress hormone) is increased at times to trigger a series of fights or flight responses. When stress is moderate but consistent but continuous cortisol intake can affect other hormone pathways leading to fat storage. It's a bit more complex than this but the weight point is too much pressure for your weight loss efforts, so finding a way to relax, relax and cope with your daily stressor is essential.

Proper recovery and regeneration strategies

Whether you are training as part of your weight loss plan or just following a diet plan and regeneration is important. We have discussed how hormones play an active role in your weight loss success and your recovery patterns can affect your hormone balance.

Cortisol, a stress hormone, which we discussed earlier was released by your body in a circadian rhythm. This means that at certain times of the day and night it is higher and other times it is lower. The time you sleep is much more important than the length of your sleep for recovery and regeneration due to this rhythm.

When you wake up after 11pm, your cortisol levels reach the roof (this is why you can get a second wind and wake up in the evening) which has a knock on sleep and recovery. When you are late to bed you do not achieve deep recovery sleep as you will be tired and stressed the next day. Increased levels of cortisol the next day and through repeated sleep cycles have been tapping into your fat storage.

There are other problems with the growth hormone-related exercise that are influenced by poor sleep patterns that I will address in a future article but for today only understand that early sleep is better than sleeping longer.

Bring everything together

The purpose of this article is to highlight to you that losing weight or losing more fat is a much bigger process than just calories in calories so you can make the right choices when looking for support.

My advice if you want to start a weight loss regime is to find a personal trainer who can provide a more holistic approach to your weight loss support plan as it is more than just exercise and diet in the ordinary sense.

I hope this article is useful to you and I welcome any comments and questions,

for your happiness, health and success,

Nathan
