Why High Reps Are Better For Gaining Weight Fast

Most bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts try to gain weight fast and are always told that in order to gain muscle mass they must hold on to heavy weight for low reps.

The myth of weight training comes from many who believe that "heavy weight for low reps" is "size", and "light weight for high reps" is for "endurance".

Well, nothing can be further from the truth.

In fact, if gaining weight is a challenge for you, setting a weight with a low rep can be a big mistake.

Why am I saying this?

Well, the European Journal of Applied Physiology lists several studies conducted on how different types of genes in the body respond to different exercise routines, based on sets, weights, and reps.

What they find important.

First, there are basically two types of make-up genes for each individual:

1) ACE II

2) ACE DD

In one study, scientists took 99 weight trainers and put them into two types of exercise routines:

o A training program consists of various sets for high reps and lighter weights (representatives are in 12-15 sets).

o Other training routines consist of different sets for lower reps with heavier weights (representatives are in 8-12 sets).

What they found was that overweight and overweight weight trainers had ACE II genes.

These people respond well to higher reps for lighter weight programs.

However, when following lower givers for a heavier weight routine, they have made no progress in terms of muscle mass building.

Sure, they may be stronger, but we focus on gaining weight and muscle size, not strength.

(No, size and strength are out of hand, as you believe) Which is why most natural bodybuilders / fitness enthusiasts never reach their goals, but they are stronger, but not bigger. a case with you ??)

One of the reasons why higher rep exercises are better for those with mostly ACE II is because they have greater tissue oxygenation, which can increase heart rate and skeletal muscle intake.

More reasons why higher reps are better than heavier reps for weight gain to gain weight quickly:

o High blood pressure forced through the blood vessels and arteries while working with a high rep will bring in important nutrients for the muscles to feed the training muscles.

High rep exercises increase capillary density (capillary thickness in muscles).

High rep exercises increase the diameter (size) of blood vessels in the muscles.

High rep exercises stimulate the formation of new blood vessels.

..... all responsible for making your muscles bigger in size and mass.

(Hey, not what you did after first place ????)

Give heavy weight to low powerlifters.
