When you cut, suffer from muscle aches, injuries, or viruses, the process of inflammation begins to allow the body to heal itself. Your body responds by increasing blood flow when sending fluid to an injured or infected area. Increased blood flow allows oxygen and nutrients to reach the injured area while the fluid restores tissue or repair cell damage.
