Epstein Barr Treatment - 7 Common Mistakes People Make When Recovering From Epstein Barr Virus

There are 7 common mistakes people make when treating Epstein Barr virus causing mononucleosis or gland fever. These errors can delay your recovery and in some cases lead to secondary infections such as strep throat, pneumonia, sinus infections or chronic fatigue syndrome. Let's look at each of these errors in more detail:

Mistake 1 - Don't rest your body

Most common people make mistakes when they are first diagnosed with Epstein Barr virus. Symptoms of mononucleosis include fatigue, sore throat, swollen glands, muscle aches, headaches, nausea and sometimes fever. Despite some debilitating symptoms, some people try and struggle and keep working, school or college, running a household, rushing after their family. There is no way you will make a quick and complete recovery from Epstein Barr if you do not stop and rest your body.

Mistake 2 - Not getting enough sleep

Running from the first mistake is the second mistake - not getting enough sleep. Your body in particular needs quality sleep when recovering from Epstein Barr. When you sleep your body produces a hormone called growth hormone, which is your body's repair hormone. Lack of sleep and prolonged sleep (after about 11am) will cause your body to make low growth hormones.

To make sure you are asleep at 11am. and have a good night's sleep, make sure you don't watch TV, play computer, drink caffeine, do work or rush before bed. Get into bed rest routine. Having a warm bath, reading quietly in bed, meditating, doing yoga or enjoying chamomile tea are all great ideas that you can try.

Mistake 3 - Insufficient water supply

Now the third mistake, and this is probably the most common mistake I see in my patients, is not drinking enough water to remove Epstein Barr virus and toxins from your body. Your goal is to drink at least 8 glasses of fluid a day. Liquids can include pure water, herbal tea, lime juice, soups, soups and freshly cooked vegetable juices. Your fluid should not contain tea, coffee, soft drinks or alcohol, which will only drain the water and make you feel worse.

In some people with mononucleosis, the throat can be very painful and inflamed which makes it difficult to swallow. In this case, hot lemon and honey tea can help soothe the throat and make drinking easier. Or sucking on ice cubes can be a pain and get fluid into your body.

Mistake 4 - Eat the wrong food

One of the cheapest and easiest ways to treat Epstein Barr is with healthy food. How your immune system functions is directly linked to what you eat. If you eat all the wrong foods like sugar, white flour products, processed foods, alcohol, coffee and excess fat then there is no way to make a good recovery from mononucleosis. Your body needs essential vitamins, minerals, enzymes, fiber and fat to boost your immune system, reduce fatigue and help your body cope with stress.

The best Diet for Epstein Barr treatment is based on high quality protein foods such as fish, organic chicken, tofu, whey protein, eggs, nuts, seeds and legumes. Each dish should have lots of fresh fruits and vegetables - cover at least 80% of your plate with leafy vegetables, salads, vegetables and low carbohydrates. Add some essential fats like fish oil, avocado, cold pressed olive oil or flaxseed oil, and you have a well-balanced diet that will help you treat mononucleosis effectively.

Mistake 5 - Treat Epstein Barr virus with antibiotics

Antibiotics are not used in treating Epstein Barr virus. Antibiotics are only effective against non-viral bacteria. In some cases using antibiotics to treat Epstein Barr can result in skin rash, fungal growth, indigestion and suppressed immunity.

Mistake 6 - Not taking the right supplements

One of the fastest ways to treat Epstein Barr is to add some supplements to your regime. I give all my mononucleosis patients vitamins A, C, E, zinc and selenium with great results. B complexes and magnesium are also useful to help improve the adrenal glands, improve energy levels and ensure a good night's sleep.

There are also some great ingredients for Epstein Barr treatment. The best are Olive Leaf extracts, echinacea, garlic and astragalus. The amount of nutrients and herbs that are right for you will vary depending on your age, the severity of your illness and how much food you eat.

Error 7 - Resuming activity too early

Getting back to weight training or daily activities too early is a surefire way to put you back in the square. Many people start to feel better, and they rush back to their previous sports or work, only to find that they have relapsed and started to feel terrible again. The best advice I can give here is also take things slowly. Start walking slowly and monitor how your body responds. Do an hour of homework or shopping and see how you feel. Maybe go back to work or college for half a day and see how you got into trouble. Getting up slowly for a few weeks takes time to relax, eat well, take your supplements and drink plenty of water.

The Epstein Barr virus is a latent virus, so once you have it, it can reappear if you overstress your body or do too much.
