When To Take Whey Protein For The Best Results

What Is The Best Time To Take Whey Protein To Properly Pack On Muscles?

When it comes to taking whey protein, it makes sense to try and consume whey protein supplements for best results. If aspiring weight loss trainers are just starting out and looking for supplements with protein supplements, it can be very confusing when consuming whey protein to get the best results.

Let me give you a personal example. When I started the weight training, 86, my first protein supplement was Beverly International protein powder. Of course, this protein supplement is not a whey-based product but a cheap variation of soy protein mixed with milk protein.

I'll be the first to say that these early protein powders are mixed like cement and taste a little better. Regardless, I don't know when to take this protein supplement. Basically I take this protein powder once every two days. This is a complete waste of money without any benefits.

Firstly , my protein intake is very inconsistent which is not conducive to building muscle at all.

Second , every two days is not enough to affect my protein intake.

How do I know when to take protein supplements? No information at all - No forums, no blogs, Yahoo answers, no website information (like building muscle101..hehe), no internet, nothing. If you are a heavyweight coach aspiring to be back in the middle of ' 80's. s, there is not much information available, let alone use.

Whatever, now I know.

Whey protein is a wonderful supplement as it contains some great muscle building properties that have one important element that most other protein sources lack.

That's the level of ignorance. Whey protein isolates for example (the purest form of whey protein), are one of the fastest growing sources of protein today.

As well as being one of the fastest acting proteins, whey protein is rich in Branched Amino Acids (leucine, isoleucine, and valine).

All right, so now you know that whey protein is 1) easy and efficient to digest, and 2) high in muscle-building amino acids. What we need to know now is when taking whey protein for best results.

I've done some research and done a lot of personal experiments to see what works best. I have come to the conclusion that there are 3 windows of opportunity to put whey protein strength to its best use. Here's what I think is the best time to take whey protein:

o As soon as you wake up ;

o 40 minutes before work ;

o Immediately after work .

Keep it close to each point for the best time to take whey protein.

1) As Soon As You Wake Up

Again, your body is pretty much in starvation mode. Whether you realize it or not, your body is a craving for nutrients and needs these nutrients to initiate an internal mechanism to start building and working. Your body is weak and wants protein. The sooner you can get some protein into your body, the better.

Personally, I have found that isolated protein drinks mixed with some yogurt and orange juice work well. This is one of the most important times when taking whey protein.

Today is very important and that can improve your weight training results, OVERNIGHT! About 45 minutes after you've used your whey protein gum, you must have a hearty breakfast. By doing this, you will leverage your body's ability to use protein effectively and efficiently. Believe me, if you follow these little tips, you'll see your results skyrocket.

2) 40 Minutes Before Working

If you have some intense training, you'll be saving stocks by acting fast, high quality protein. Whey protein contains high levels of branched amino acids that help maintain glycogen stores. It's very important. Because glucose is the number one source of energy, high glucose stores maintain high and intensive training.

I would recommend that you take an alcoholic protein drink mixed with some carbohydrates to launch your workout.

3) Immediately After Working

Why carbohydrates and proteins? When carbohydrates are taken with protein, there is an explosion of insulin. Insulin kicks machines into high gear glycogen. Glycogen is considered to be a major source of glucose and is found primarily in the liver and muscle. Glucose supplies the body with the active tissue with energy.

Thus, insulin accelerates the movement of glucose and amino acids into the cells you want and secondly, it activates a special enzyme essential for glycogen synthesis.

Additional research has shown that drinking extra protein / carbohydrates after exercise triggers growth hormone release. Good news for building muscle.

If you want to build muscle, use a beverage rich in whey protein and carbohydrates after your workout and include it in your weight loss diet.

Try using the following drinks to eat your post workout.

Low fat yogurt cups

1 teaspoon (2oz) vanilla whey protein powder - 30 grams of protein

1 tbsp of honey

1 ½ cup low milk or 1% milk

1 cup orange juice

5 grams of creatine monohydrate

Mix all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Includes: 590 calories, 45 grams of protein, 93 grams of carbohydrates, and 6 grams of fat.

Remember to customize the ingredients to suit your own nutritional needs. Now, just like with your breakfast, you need to have complete muscle development about 1 hour later. I'm very serious here, because if there's one element that will put you on the path to fast muscle growth, this is it. Prepare the beverage above immediately after your workout, no more than 30 minutes and you MUST follow this by eating full muscle 1 hour later.
