If you want to pack on muscle slabs without using illegal drugs, this may just be the most important article you read all year.

Because in this article I will show you three proven strategies for building muscle mass without illegal steroids.

First, I want you to show the timeline in your head. On the left, you have 1850. Yes, I realize that over the past 150 years but have been patient with me.

To the right of the timeline is 2000 and beyond.

Strategy # 1: Lift and heavy, short and sweet.

Most men who complain about their inability to gain weight just do too much at the gym. You should train only three times a week and each training session should consist of only three exercises.

Back in the 1920s (before steroids were invented), a man named J. Hise gained 29 pounds a month with training only three times a week. Also, he does ONLY the following three exercises.

Strategy # 2: Eat (and Drink) More Protein

Of course, the real secret to packing on muscle mass is to eat (and drink) more protein. Muscles are made up of water and protein so it only makes sense that you will need extra protein when trying to gain weight.

Focus on eggs, beef, tuna, turkey, chicken and whatever else you can find. And don't forget about milk. J. Hise drank about one gallon of milk daily during his mass training.

Strategy # 3: Sleep

Sounds simple, but sleep is the key to building muscle without drugs. When you sleep, your body releases growth hormone and testosterone. Drug users may miss out on sleep because they inject artificial growth hormones and artificial testosterone.

But without drugs, natural trainers like you and I need to maximize our body's ability to produce real things. For an average person, 8 hours of sleep is enough. But for drug-free athletes, shoot for 9 or 10 hours a night.

Remember: Before the light bulbs were invented by our ancestors we had 10-12 hours of sleep per night PLUS extra daylight in the afternoon. So to maximize your natural hormones, get as much sleep as you possibly can.
