Improve Your Memory Using These 3 Proven Techniques

Do you often have trouble remembering names even when you are just introduced? What about the directions, the address, and even the house you've been to several times? If this is an issue for you you will find the three most popular methods to ensure that you can remember people not only by first name, but by first and last name. Addresses, phone numbers, and emails only need to be seen or heard once and your mind will make sure to keep the data for you as you need it. Taking tests, remembering lectures, and other academic work will be easier for you after you practice the following techniques.

The first method is commonly known as a random word memory technique. This technique is actually quite familiar to the nerdy people and there is actually a national competition for those who have hosted it. You'll need a timer, a dictionary, some sheets of paper, and a writing device. Take your dictionary, or any book it will, and open it to a random page and write the first word you see on one piece of paper. Now it's your turn and write the first word you see on the same paper. Keep doing this until you have ten words on your page. Now take this piece of paper and look at the words for thirty seconds. Once the thirty seconds are up, turn off the paper with your written word and use another piece of paper to write the words you wrote on the page. Concentrate on getting it in the right order. If you only have a few words correctly, don't be shy, people can start this way. Repeat this exercise again, taking ten new words from your book. I recommend that you spend fifteen to thirty minutes every day doing this. Once you have the right ten words and in the right order, move up to twenty words. Keep increasing the volume of words as you see yourself can get the right words. Once you reach thirty or more words correctly, you will notice a huge improvement in your memory. I would be surprised if you forgot your first name again or forgot the answer to one of your exam questions.

The next exercise helps to remember things like phone numbers, addresses and directions. You will need a timer, a few pieces of paper, or a grade-paper pad if you have a habit, some playing dice and writing tools. Make five to five grids on your paper now and then another five to five grids on a second piece of paper. Set up a second piece of paper and on the first paper select a random square and put one into it, select another random square and now place two, continue doing this for six, then start by placing another in a new random space. Keep doing this until the entire grid is numbered from one to six. Now roll your dice and whatever number appears try to remember the location of each example number on your grid. Do this for a minute. Now try to write the numbers in the right box on the second paper, without looking at the first piece of paper. Maybe five by five is too easy for you. Increase up to ten to ten grids and add two dice, this time numbering your grid from one to twelve. If you can do this, increase the grid size by fifteen to fifteen, but do not add more dice. Once you can do thirty-three grids with just two dice, remembering things like phone numbers, addresses, and directions will be something you'll be able to do perfectly without really thinking about it.

Finally, we must mention that what you eat plays a big role in how well you remember things. Start drinking coffee (let alone milk and sugar if you can), yes, you read the right coffee. Starting next to eating chocolate is very dark, it should be at least seventy percent or more of the cocoa in your chocolate. Eating milk chocolate won't help you here so don't try to joke around. Adding ginkgo, ginseng, and other herbs to your diet, other things like HGH, can also be beneficial. We urge you to stay away from drugs like Ritalin even though they increase your brain's ability to remember. Ritalin has some serious side effects and unless you are studying for a large exam, I suggest you forget that it does.

You know you have everything you need to start getting your brain working to its fullest potential. Taking thirty minutes to an hour may be too much for you, and then cutting it down to do each exercise once a day. This will take you less than five minutes a day, and even the busiest people can enter that day.
