Dairy and Acne - Does Milk Cause Acne?

Do you wonder if milk causes acne? What about all dairy products? If there is an agreement among acne experts, it is to eliminate all dairy from your diet. In this article I will discuss why you should avoid dairy if you want clear skin, how to eliminate dairy from your diet, and what you should drink.

Why You Should Avoid Dairy

One of the most common things I read on the internet among acne sufferers is that when they eliminate dairy from existing diets, the acne continues to increase and significantly. When I remove dairy from my diet my acne improves significantly.

Milk contains antibiotics, growth hormones, lactose intolerable by about 3/4 of the population, and casein, a protein that is not digested by a large percentage of the population. Taking something you are allergic to can cause acne.

How To Get Rid Of Milk From Your Diet

Take baby steps. Don't try to eliminate all dairy from your diet today. If you do this, you may feel frustrated and depressed which will only make your acne worse and can cause you to give up. Instead, use a little milk, a little cheese, take one less teaspoon of ice cream, and so on. After about a week, reduce each dairy product. Enjoy the trip, don't rush.

Healthy & Good Milk Alternatives

Almond milk is my favorite. Lower amounts of sugar are better. Cow's milk is an excellent alternative, maybe the healthiest, but more expensive. Soy milk is better than cow's milk, but still has its own trunk because it has been linked to thyroid problems. Sheep milk is better than cow's milk but should be used with caution. Cassava is great for recipes and shakes.

Keep it simple. Look to start avoiding dairy today, but take baby steps. Try almond milk or hemp milk if you can. Avoid all other types of dairy or make your own ice cream with dairy-free products. Remember this; Avoiding dairy is the # 1 thing you can do for your skin.
